(August 19, 2026) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will conduct pacing operations and lane closures along I-26 for the I-26 Widening & SC 27 Interchange project in Berkeley County beginning on Sunday night, August 23. Lane closures and pacing operations will take place overnight on August 23 from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Crews will be performing a traffic shift on I-26 Eastbound between mile marker 190 and 193 and traffic will shift right from the median towards the outside shoulder. The same operations will be performed Monday night, August 24, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. along I-26 Westbound. SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention to signs and crews when driving near the work zone.
